April Applause 2024

Cooley Nutcracker & Liz Halliday

April has been another stellar month for our Go For Gold graduates, and one of the major stars has to be Liz Halliday’s CCI5*-L debutante Cooley Nutcracker (formerly Ballyshan Contender). Crowned the CCI4*-L national champion in America last year, the highly rated ten-year-old fulfilled all expectations to complete the Kentucky showcase in eighth position. Closer to home, another eyecatcher has been the mare Trend

Closer to home, another eyecatcher has been the mare Trend De La Cruise (John Tilley GBR), who having won at Crecora on her first start on Irish soil, was then placed third in a competitive CCI3* international at Ballindenisk.

Across the water in England, we have had a host of individual winners, and congratulations are due notably to Kilcannon Sensation (Harry Meade), Kilcannon Mischief (Tom McEwen) and Rock Phantom (Sara Kozumplik).

It’s not just the eventers making the headlines either, as the Ryan Page ridden show jumpers have been on unstoppable form with Curraghraigue Q Hill landing the six-year-old championship at the Chard International show.

We are also thrilled to have three graduates at Badminton this year, and wish the very best of luck to Copper Beach (Cosby Green), Grantstown Jackson (Sarah Ennis) and RCA Patron Saint (Lucy Latta).
