With all eyes focused on the Olympic Games, our star graduate of July has to be none other than the Paris head turner Nutcracker (Cooley Nutcracker) ridden by Liz Halliday. Sold at the 2019 sale, Nutcracker delivered a fabulous double clear round for the American squad, finally completing in fifteenth spot individually.
Nutcracker was also crowned the leading CCI4*-L horse in America last year, and gathering more accolades, it was announced this week that the Gary Doherty bred son of Tolan R is the third highest ranked ten-year-old in the world – no mean feat! Congratulations to all connections.
It is also notable that no less than four graduates were listed for Olympic consideration, two of which were named as reserves.
CONGRATULATIONS are also due to Alex Hua Tian (Poseidon’s Admiral) who having won the Go For Gold supported CCI4*-L in Strzegom is the recipient of a very generous monetary voucher to be spent at the Go For Gold sale this November. This will entitle him to purchase a horse up to €30,000 commission free, an attractive incentive that will also be in place at Plantation Fields, USA at the end of September.
Also in America, the exciting partnership of Kim Severson and the seven-year-old Cooley Corraghy Diamond enjoyed yet another international win when landing the CCI3*-S at Maryland earlier in the month.
Putting money back into the sport, Goresbridge Go For Gold were also pleased to feature as fence sponsors at the international fixtures at Millstreet and Aston Le Walls.
In the latter event, graduates were on fire to win several classes, and most notably RCA Patron Saint, who on the back of his memorable runner up placing at Badminton, was placed second in the very competitive CCI4*-S.
